Instagram Setup

Connect your Instagram professional account to Nexvox to manage Instagram Direct messages and story replies from the same inbox as WhatsApp.

Prerequisites

  • An Instagram professional account (Business or Creator)
  • Meta Business Manager account with the Instagram account connected
  • A Facebook Page linked to your Instagram professional account

1Link your Instagram account in Meta Business Suite

  1. Go to business.facebook.com and sign in
  2. Go to Business Settings → Accounts → Instagram accounts
  3. Click Add and connect your Instagram professional account
  4. Confirm the account is linked to the same Facebook Page used for your business

2Grant messaging permissions

  1. In your Meta app dashboard, add the Instagram product
  2. Under Permissions, request instagram_manage_messages
  3. Request pages_show_list and instagram_basic as well — both are required to read message threads
Note: Meta requires app review before these permissions are granted for live (non-developer) Instagram accounts. Submit your app for review with a short screen recording of the messaging flow.

3Connect the account in Nexvox

  1. In Nexvox, go to Settings → Channels → Instagram
  2. Click Connect Instagram and log in with your Facebook Page admin account
  3. Select the Instagram professional account to connect

4Configure the webhook

  1. In Meta, go to Instagram → Configuration → Webhook
  2. Set the Callback URL to:
https://app.nexvox.co/api/webhook/instagram
  1. Set the Verify Token — copy it from Nexvox → Settings → Channels → Instagram → Webhook Verify Token
  2. Subscribe to the messages field
  3. Click Verify and save

5Test the connection

Send a direct message to your connected Instagram account. It should appear in the Nexvox inbox within a few seconds, alongside your WhatsApp conversations.

If you don't see it:

  • Confirm the Instagram account is a professional (Business or Creator) account, not a personal account
  • Verify your app has been approved for instagram_manage_messages
  • Check that the webhook subscription is active in Meta
